Baseball Recap: Pasadena Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Muir typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Pasadena proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Mustangs 10-1. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Monday, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Kaleb Derosier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian Van Zyl, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Pasadena: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-13-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Gwaltney, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Pasadena pushed their record up to 10-13-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Muir, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-9.

As of now, neither Pasadena nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
