The Logan Chieftains will venture away from home to square off against the Westerville South Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Logan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over Central Crossing. The Chieftains didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

It was another big night for Makenzie Daubenmire, who posted 24 points along with eight boards and eight blocks. She is becoming a predictor of Logan's success: when she posts at least five blocks the team is 3-1 (and 3-16 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Hinton, who put up 12 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.
Logan was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Central Crossing's also-impressive total of ten.
Meanwhile, Westerville South waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They enjoyed a cozy 56-40 victory over the Warhawks. The Wildcats pushed the score to 46-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warhawks cut but never quite recovered from.
Westerville South's win came from a few key players Logan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cirrye White, who went 7-for-9 on her way to 16 points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ariyana Cradle, who earned 17 points along with five boards and three steals.
Westerville South's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Logan, their record now sits at 6-17.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Logan has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 22.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Westerville South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Logan ended up a good deal behind Westerville South when the teams last played back in December of 2016, losing 55-40. Can Logan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
