Basketball Game Preview: Sylmar Spartans vs. Kennedy Cougars + How To Watch

The Sylmar Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Kennedy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sylmar has given up an average of 71.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Sylmar ended up a good deal behind Chatsworth and lost 69-52.

Sylmar's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Garcia, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards, and Payton Perez, who went 6-for-9 en route to 15 points. Perez is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played.

Kennedy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Van Nuys with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 52-38.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Sylmar, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Sylmar couldn't quite get it done against Kennedy when the teams last played back in January as they fell 71-63. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
