Byron barely beat St. Charles the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears' defense stepped up to hand the Fighting Saints a 4-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for Byron, who have now won six contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Byron's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for St. Charles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Byron will face off against Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for St. Charles, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Plainview-Elgin-Millville on the 16th.
