Softball Game Preview: Stone Ridge Christian Knights vs. Delhi Hawks

Stone Ridge Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Delhi recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Stone Ridge Christian Knights will be playing at home against the Delhi Hawks at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Stone Ridge Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Waterford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Stone Ridge Christian's pitcher stepped up to hand Waterford a 14-0 shutout last Wednesday. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Tailynn Dungy was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Hayden Quisenberry was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Stone Ridge Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Delhi came into Wednesday's match having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 24-12 margin over Waterford on Wednesday. The Hawks' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Stone Ridge Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Delhi, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
