Baseball Game Preview: Great Oak Wolfpack vs. Murrieta Mesa Rams

For the second straight game, Great Oak will face off against Murrieta Mesa. The Wolfpack will face off against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Great Oak fell victim to Murrieta Mesa and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Wolfpack's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Murrieta Mesa's part, not much got past Tanner Blackmon, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Great Oak off the board. Blackmon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Murrieta Mesa's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Wagner a new career-high.

Great Oak's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-15. As for Murrieta Mesa, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-11.
