Basketball Recap: Griffin Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Griffin lost to Midtown back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Griffin Bears managed a 61-56 win over the Midtown Knights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Despite the loss, Midtown still got an impressive performance from Darrion Hadley, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dhati Lewis, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Griffin pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Midtown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Griffin will head out to face off against Mundy's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mundy's Mill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season. As for Midtown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Drew at 7:00 p.m. Drew knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Midtown likes a good challenge.
