Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Indians vs. Noblesville Millers

Anderson is 1-9 against Noblesville since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Anderson Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Noblesville Millers at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Anderson comes in on 12 and Noblesville on nine.

Last Thursday, Anderson didn't have too much trouble with Richmond as they won 68-54. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Red Devils are ranked 185th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anderson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javon Warfield led the charge by putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Warfield has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Damien King, who made all 7 shots he took for 15 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Noblesville beat Mt. Vernon 50-46 on Thursday.

Anderson better focus on containing Justin Curry II and Adam Fine as the pair were huge in Noblesville's win. Curry II went 6 for 11 on his way to 19 points and five boards, while Fine went 5 of 7 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Fine a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baron Walker, who posted ten points.

Noblesville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. As for Anderson, their record now sits at 16-1.

Anderson was taken down by Noblesville 67-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Anderson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
