Basketball Recap: Buena Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Buena had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Newbury Park Panthers 73-28 on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.

Despite the loss, Buena still got an impressive performance from Rook Johnson, who posted 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Coming up, Buena will head out to challenge Malibu at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newbury Park, they have already played their next matchup, a 72-54 victory against Highland on the 19th.
