Baseball Recap: West Morris Central Comes Up Short

West Morris Central came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the West Morris Mendham Minutemen by a score of 6-4 on Monday. Wolfpack fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Minutemen since on Monday.

Nick Rotundo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Jack Gumersell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Vinny Santorelli also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

West Morris Central's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for West Morris Mendham, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10.
