Baseball Game Preview: Angleton Wildcats vs. Iowa Colony Pioneers

The Angleton Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Iowa Colony Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Angleton hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Angleton fell victim to Santa Fe and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Angleton got a good showing from Jeremy Peel, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Peel has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Iowa Colony suffered their biggest defeat since April 26, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Santa Fe, falling 7-0.

Iowa Colony's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Angleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-1.

Angleton came out on top in a nail-biter against Iowa Colony in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
