East Central is 9-1 against Franklin County since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The East Central Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Franklin County Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. East Central has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Last Wednesday, East Central came up short against Centerville and fell 51-43. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Franklin County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They strolled past Union County with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 49-32.

Franklin County's win came from a few key players East Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Allen, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Brady Foster was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points and four steals.

Franklin County was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union County only racked up five assists.

Franklin County's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8. As for East Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

East Central beat Franklin County 42-29 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
