Softball Recap: Van Wert Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ottoville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Van Wert). They never let the Ottoville Big Green get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Van Wert got a massive performance out of Emma Haines, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Haines' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Behm, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Van Wert kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Ottoville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Van Wert will square off against Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ottoville, they will face off against Miller City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Big Green's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
