Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is La Cueva's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Cleveland came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against La Cueva, but Tre Cowles wouldn't allow it. The La Cueva Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cleveland Storm on Thursday, sneaking past 66-64 thanks in part to Cowles, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

La Cueva has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Cleveland, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

La Cueva will face off against Eldorado at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. La Cueva knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Eldorado likes a good challenge. Cleveland has already played their next game, an 84-75 victory against Hobbs on the 18th.
