Basketball Recap: Manvel's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of three wins, Manvel's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 63-50 to the Dawson Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-30 back in November of 2024.

Dawson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kendall Ford led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Ford is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jaycee Ingram was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Manvel's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Dawson, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Dobie the next time they take the court. Manvel will head out to face Dobie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Dawson will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th.
