Baseball Recap: Asheboro Hybrid Academy Takes a Loss

Asheboro Hybrid Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Oak Level Baptist Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 22-19 to the Conquerors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (12), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Zach Cooke and Wesley Parks stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cooke got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Parks went 4-for-6 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Parks is becoming a predictor of Asheboro Hybrid Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Landon Hudson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Oak Level Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
