Baseball Recap: West Springfield Makes It Four in a Row at Home

While West Springfield's victory against South County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Stallions 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 back in March.

West Springfield pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for South County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
