Basketball Recap: Hialeah Gardens Falls Short of Goleman in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hialeah Gardens can now relate to. They fell 54-47 to the Goleman Gators on Monday. The Gladiators have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Goleman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Frudrias Porter led the charge by going 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Porter has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Franki Sosa, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Hialeah Gardens' defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Goleman, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Hialeah Gardens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Goleman has already played their next match (against Columbus), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
