Baseball Recap: St. Michael the Archangel Takes a Loss

St. Michael the Archangel came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Pembroke Hill Raiders by a score of 8-6 on Monday. The Guardians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Colston Lyon was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Maverick Cure was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Michael the Archangel and nudges their season record down to 13-5. As for Pembroke Hill, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-3-1.

While St. Michael the Archangel had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
