Basketball Game Preview: Yreka Miners vs. Anderson Cubs

The Yreka Miners will face off against the Anderson Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yreka knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Anderson likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Yreka came up short against Lassen and fell 70-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Miners still had to take the loss.

Yreka might have lost, but man, Trevan Crane was a machine: he posted 31 points. Crane is becoming a predictor of Yreka's success: when he posts at least 30 points the team is 3-1 (and 7-16 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Vann, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Anderson lost to West Valley at home by a 61-44 margin on Tuesday.

Anderson has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Yreka, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-17.
