Softball Recap: Oxon Hill Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Oxon Hill strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Fairmont Heights Hornets 24-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Clippers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Kennedy Woodruff made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Carter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Akira Wilkerson, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Oxon Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Oxon Hill pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fairmont Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
