Soccer Recap: Merritt Island Comes Up Short

Merritt Island lost against Viera back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Hawks, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Merritt Island can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Viera are ranked 30th).

Merritt Island now has a losing record of 2-3-2. As for Viera, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Merritt Island will welcome Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Merritt Island's defense better be ready for this one: Space Coast have averaged an impressive 3.7 goals per game this season. As for Viera, they will head out to face off against Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Viera will need to watch out since Satellite have now posted at least four goals in their last three contests.
