Softball Recap: McMinnville Comes Up Short

McMinnville has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.95 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Grove Vikings. Surprisingly, this marked the Grizzlies' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Kaylee Dinger was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Genevieve Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

McMinnville's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Forest Grove, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McMinnville is set to face off against their familiar foe Glencoe at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Grizzlies 4, the Crimson Tide 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Forest Grove will take on rival Newberg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
