Basketball Game Preview: Lynbrook Vikings vs. Homestead Mustangs

Lynbrook and Homestead are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Lynbrook Vikings will host the Homestead Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lynbrook is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Saratoga just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Homestead over Cupertino in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Homestead blew Cupertino out of the water with a 49-19 final score. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Lynbrook's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Homestead, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Lynbrook didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Homestead in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win.
