Recap: Quinter Bulldogs vs. Dighton Hornets

It was a good run, but the Quinter Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 44-32 to Dighton. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Quinter of the 41-31 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Quinter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shea Salyers. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Packard, who scored seven points.

Leading Dighton to victory were Daniel Cramer and Carson Shimer. Cramer scored 14 points along with three steals, while Shimer scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Cramer is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Quinter's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2. As for Dighton, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0.

Quinter will head out on the road to face off against Golden Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden Plains will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Quinter is ranked 63rd). As for Dighton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Otis-Bison at 7:00 p.m. Otis-Bison is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
