Basketball Recap: Weslaco Comes Up Short

Weslaco has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 52-45 to the Bridgeland Bears on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Weslaco still got an impressive performance from Michael Fuentes, who went 6-for-8 on his way to 17 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Jasso, who posted 11 points.

Weslaco's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Bridgeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Weslaco will head out to take on Alexander at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Bridgeland, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Tompkins at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
