Softball Game Preview: Blythewood Bengals vs. Lancaster Bruins

The Blythewood Bengals will head out to take on the Lancaster Bruins at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Blythewood's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ridge View as they made off with a 20-0 win. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Lancaster came out on top against South Pointe last Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fourth inning. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Stallions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

The team relied heavily on Samaria Jackson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasyah Stover, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Lancaster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Blythewood's record is now 16-5. As for Lancaster, their record now sits at 9-11.

Blythewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Lancaster in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
