Noah Martin and Bryce Love did most of the damage at the plate: Martin scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Love scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Martin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayden Ebbert, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Peyton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Front Range Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Liberty Common by a score of 4-2. The loss put an end to the Falcons' undefeated start to the season.
Front Range Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haedan Morton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Peyton pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Front Range Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Peyton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Front Range Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 12.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Peyton took their win against Front Range Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 17-0. Does Peyton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Front Range Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
