Baseball Recap: Pompano Beach Comes Up Short

Pompano Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-6 to the South Broward Bulldogs. The Golden Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Pompano Beach saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathon Caianiello, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The Golden Tornadoes are 3-1 when Caianiello posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Parker Skeen was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Pompano Beach's record now sits at 5-9. As for South Broward, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pompano Beach will challenge Coral Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Tornadoes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colts have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for South Broward, they will square off against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sports Leadership & Management has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.85 runs per game on average), something South Broward will no doubt try to take advantage of.
