Softball Game Preview: Manvel Mavericks vs. Dawson Eagles

The Manvel Mavericks will face off against the Dawson Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Manvel didn't have quite enough to beat Alvin and fell 7-6. The Mavericks have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, Dawson entered their tilt with Alvin on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Yellowjackets.

Dawson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 6.25 runs across that stretch. As for Manvel, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Manvel skirted past Dawson 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2020. Does Manvel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dawson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
