Baseball Game Preview: McGuffey Highlanders vs. Washington Prexies

The McGuffey Highlanders will face off against the Washington Prexies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

McGuffey came up short against Waynesburg Central on Wednesday, falling 9-2. The Highlanders have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

McGuffey saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Carlisle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Washington fell victim to Seton LaSalle and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 16-0 to the Rebels. The Prexies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

McGuffey's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-1. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

McGuffey took their win against Washington when the teams last played back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 21-2 score. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Prexies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
