Moorhead had lost four games at home, but after bumping their record up to 5-7 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alexandria Cardinals an 11-0 shutout. The Spuds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.
Kenadi Kays was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madden Bogenreif was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Taylor Kressin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Moorhead kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexandria only managed three hits.
