Empire strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Safford Bulldogs. The Ravens have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Safford's batters probably weren't too happy with Kendall Freidinger, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 20 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Freidinger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gabrianna Brooks and Abby Zsitvay did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Zsitvay scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Kapri Tiggas also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Empire hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Safford struck out 20 times.

Empire's win was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Safford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.

Empire didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 16th. As for Safford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-1 victory against Rio Rico on the 14th.
