Football Game Preview: Norton Lancers vs. Medfield Warriors + Official Tickets

The Norton Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Medfield Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Norton sitting on three straight wins and Medfield on eight (dating back to last season).

On Friday, Norton humbled Millis with a 43-6 victory. That looming 43-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.

Norton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Johansen out in front who rushed for 92 yards on only seven carries. Those 92 rushing yards gave Johansen a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Medfield's offense rose to the challenge against a Blackhawks defense that boasted an average of only 13.29 points allowed on Friday. The Warriors simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bellingham 48-7. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Norton better keep an eye on Brady McCormack. He was instrumental in Medfield's win, rushing for 222 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per carry. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: McCormack posted at least 121 rushing yards in the fifth games prior. Another rusher making a difference was Matteo Benson, who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Medfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellingham only rushed for 87.

Norton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Medfield, their record now sits at 7-0.

Norton came out on top in a nail-biter against Medfield when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 31-28. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was McCormack, who rushed for 260 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.0 yards per carry.
