Western Plains can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home. They took a 33-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan/Palco. The Bobcats have struggled against Logan/Palco recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaelyn Spangler, who posted eight points plus eight rebounds and seven steals. She has been hot , having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalihan Flax, who had six points in addition to four steals.
Meanwhile, Cheylin posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Golden Plains, posting a 63-34 victory.
Western Plains might still be hurting after the 58-38 defeat they got from Cheylin in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cheylin's Taylor McCarty, who shot 8-for-15 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 34 points and 17 rebounds.
