Baseball Recap: Garden City Buffaloes vs. Junction City Bluejays
Garden City can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game in their second game on Saturday. They never let the Junction City Bluejays onto the board and left with a 6-0 win. The victory was just what Garden City needed coming off of a 9-3 loss in their prior match.
Henry Bors looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk).
At the plate, Emilio Zundt was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Chase McGraw was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
The win got Garden City back to even at 5-5. As for Junction City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Garden City will head out on the road to challenge Liberal at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams will come into the matchup having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes. As for Junction City, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Topeka at 4:00 p.m.
