Basketball Game Preview: Breaux Bridge Tigers vs. Livonia Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Breaux Bridge Tigers take on the Livonia Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Breaux Bridge has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Saturday, Breaux Bridge had just enough and edged Cecilia out 37-34.

Beau Chene typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Livonia proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 win over the Gators. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Gators are ranked 84th).

Livonia has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Breaux Bridge, their record is now 11-18.

Breaux Bridge came up short against Livonia in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 54-44. Can Breaux Bridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
