Softball Recap: Spackenkill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dover on Thursday, Spackenkill came back down to earth. The Spartans took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Huskies on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 9-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Adriana Alessandro was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Spackenkill has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Highland, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Spackenkill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, they will take on Beacon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
