Soccer Game Preview: Bowdon vs. Mt. Zion

The Bowdon Red Devils will take on the Mt. Zion Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bowdon's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Bowdon fell victim to Atlanta Classical Academy and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Cavaliers. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly seven goals.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Haralson County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mt. Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bowdon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Bowdon might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Mt. Zion in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Bowdon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
