Softball Recap: Olympus Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Olympus entered their tilt with Skyline on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Eagles 12-2. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Charlie Turner spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olympus got a massive performance out of Charlotte Comer, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave Comer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Johnson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.

Olympus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .611 or higher in three consecutive games.

Olympus pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Skyline, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Olympus will host Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to square off against West at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
