Baseball Game Preview: Juanita Ravens vs. Lake Washington Kangaroos

Juanita is 1-9 against Lake Washington since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Juanita will be playing at home against Lake Washington at 7:00 p.m. Juanita will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Washington will be coming in after a loss.

Juanita barely beat Hazen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Juanita was the clear victor by a 10-4 margin over Hazen on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won three in a row.

Isaiah Villanueva looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Juanita let Ronan Scoffield and Hayden Heckenkamp run wild. Scoffield scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Heckenkamp scored a run while going 4-for-5. Scoffield also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Liam Pham was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Juanita always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hazen only posted an OBP of .310.

Meanwhile, Lake Washington fell victim to Issaquah and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Kangaroos were not able to get on the board.

Lake Washington also got a good showing from Marcello Giusti, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Giusti has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Lake Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Juanita, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Lake Washington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Juanita has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436.
