Softball Recap: Fulton City Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fulton County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fulton City). They blew past the Fulton County Pilots 22-5 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Fulton City got a massive performance out of Madison Acosta, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those RBI were Acosta's first of the season. Niasia Kinney was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Fulton City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .848. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fulton City's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Fulton County, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Fulton City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pilots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
