Meyersdale is a perfect 10-0 against Berlin Brothersvalley since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Red Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountaineers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Berlin Brothersvalley will be up against a hot Meyersdale squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Red Raiders never let Blacklick Valley get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Monday. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.

Isabella Sleasman and Madison Berkley were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Sleasman struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Berkley pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Sleasman scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Berkley went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Berkley a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kendell Donaldson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karleigh Beal, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meyersdale hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Berlin Brothersvalley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rockwood on Tuesday. The Mountaineers put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 14-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.
Elena Ritchey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Ritchey was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
In other batting news, Berlin Brothersvalley got a massive performance out of Bryn Prosser, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Coral Prosser was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
Meyersdale's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Meyersdale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .457. However, it's not like Berlin Brothersvalley struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Meyersdale was able to grind out a solid win over Berlin Brothersvalley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success, or do the Mountaineers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
