Baseball Recap: Scranton Takes a Loss

The matchup between Scranton and Abington Heights on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Knights lost 17-2 to the Comets. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Scranton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Booth, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Parker Woznick also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Scranton dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Abington Heights, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Scranton will square off against rival Wallenpaupack Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Abington Heights is set to face off against their familiar foe Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
