Baseball Recap: Lake City Trojans vs. Evart Wildcats
Lake City extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They came up short against the Evart Wildcats, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Tuesday.
As for Evart, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Evart's part, Lucas Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Aidan Anderson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Sean Jackson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.
Looking ahead, Lake City will take on Pine River Area at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evart, they will be playing at home against Mason County Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
