Softball Recap: Banning Takes a Loss

After flying high against King/Drew on Saturday, Banning came back down to earth. The Banning Pilots fell 7-4 to the El Segundo Eagles on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pilots of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Kourtney Talanoa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alina Argueta, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Banning's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for El Segundo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Banning will face off against Bishop Manogue at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday. As for El Segundo, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Redondo Union on the 15th.
