Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Parrots vs. Southwest Raiders
If Polytechnic was riding high off their 9-1 takedown of Southwest last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Polytechnic Parrots took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest Raiders on Friday. Polytechnic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southwest apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played.
Polytechnic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Zaldivar, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Samuel Garcia was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Polytechnic's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Southwest, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-21.
