Volleyball Game Preview: Clovis West Golden Eagles vs. Clovis Cougars

The Clovis West Golden Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Clovis Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Clovis West is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Buchanan just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Eagles have suffered since November 7, 2024.

While Clovis West had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.

Clovis had won nine straight games and Reina Dvorak did her part to make it ten on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Clovis East for which the team can thank Dvorak, who had six digs, five aces, and one block. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last 20 games she's played.

While Clovis won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 26-24.

Clovis' record is now 30-4. As for Clovis West, their loss dropped their record down to 25-11.
