Softball Recap: Warren Hills Regional Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Warren Hills Regional extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-4 in the process. They never let the Franklin Warriors get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Blue Streaks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Laney Adie, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Franklin off the board. Adie has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rianna Ghilon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalecia Stoddart, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8. They have struggled against Warren Hills Regional recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

On Franklin's side, Josslyn Sejeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Franklin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vicky Gabryszewski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Warren Hills Regional will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
