Softball Recap: Hanna Takes a Loss

Hanna was the 6-0 winner over Nixon when they last played one another back in March of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Hanna Golden Eagles fell just short of the Nixon Mustangs by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Allie Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Jossilyn Flores was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Hanna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Hanna now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Nixon, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Looking ahead, Hanna will be playing at home against Edinburg North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nixon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
